11th July 2016
The John D.Spicer was launched at 1445 this afternoon to assist a local fishing vessel which had broken down approx. 4 miles up the coast, near Nant Gwrtheyrn. The vessel, with 2 persons on board, was towed back to it’s mooring at Porthdinllaen, with the lifeboat returning to the boathouse by 1600.
26th June 2016
The John D.Spicer was launched tonight (June 26th) at 1930 to a 26 foot yacht which had suffered mechanical failure near Penrhyn Melyn, approx 5 miles down the coast from Porthdinllaen, towards Porth Colmon. The lifeboat was alongside the vessel ‘Pegasus’ by 1950. The lifeboat towed the casualty vessel (with 1 person on board) back to Porthdinllaen where she was placed on a safe mooring. The lifeboat was back in the boathouse by 2130.

Lansiwyd y John D.Spicer diwedd pnawn am 1740, at gwch hwylio 25 troedfedd a oedd wedi torri lawr ger Porth Ysgaden. Cyrhaeddodd y bad achub y cwch hwylio ‘Barra’ am 1755, a’i thowio i angorfa diogel ym Mae Porthdinllaen. Yno, daethpwyd a’r ddau berson (oedd arni) yn ôl i’r lan ar fwrdd y bad achub. Dychwelodd y bad achub yn ôl i’r cwt erbyn 1850.

8th June 2016
The John D.Spicer was launched to assist the Search and Rescue Helicopter with a medical emergency on Bardsey Island. The Sikorsky SAR helicopter located the casualty prior to the lifeboat arrival. Lifeboat returned to the station at Porthdinllaen at 2000. The weather conditions were foggy with variable and light winds.
30th May 2016
The John D.Spicer was launched earlier today (Monday, May 30th) at 0750, to a 25 foot yacht which had suffered mechanical failure near the Caernarfon Bar buoy. The lifeboat arrived at the position by 0820, and towed the casualty vessel ‘Barra’ on to a courtesy mooring by the entrance of Slate Quay, Caernarfon. The tow was then transferred to Beaumaris RNLI who proceeded to tow the vessel to the Marina at Felinheli.. The John D.Spicer arrived back at Porthdinllaen by 1040.
